At Castlecomer Craft Yard, we offer a unique range of hands-on craft workshops and creative experiences led by our resident artists and makers. Whether you’re looking to try something completely new, develop an existing skill, or simply enjoy a creative day out, our workshops are designed to welcome both beginners and those with previous experience.
From floral design and sculpture, to jewellery making, stained glass, and maker talks, each experience offers the opportunity to learn directly from skilled makers in a relaxed and inspiring setting. All materials are provided, and participants leave with both new skills and a handcrafted piece of their own.

Artists by Night
Jewellery workshops with Danie Bergman focusing on silver and gold techniques. Participants are guided through each stage of the process, from forming and texturing metal to soldering and finishing their own piece to take home. The workshops are beginner-friendly and suitable for those with prior experience, with all materials provided. Each session focuses on hands-on making, traditional jewellery skills and developing personal design choices, with each participant leaving with a finished, handcrafted piece.
Blooms by Majella
Seasonal wreath making and floral arranging workshops with Majella Walsh using fresh and dried flowers. Participants are guided through each stage of the process, from selecting and working with natural materials to building and finishing their own arrangement to take home. The workshops are beginner-friendly and suitable for those with prior experience, with all materials provided. Each session focuses on colour, texture and composition, encouraging personal creativity and individual style while learning practical floral techniques in a
hands-on workshop setting.
Castlecomer Craft Experience
A guided studio experience within Castlecomer Craft Yard where visitors are invited into a collection of working studios to meet resident makers and see contemporary craft being created first-hand. The experience offers a rare opportunity to step behind the scenes, watch work in progress and hear directly from the makers about their practice and processes. Each visit is relaxed and engaging, giving a genuine insight into handmade craft and the stories behind the pieces. Set in Kilkenny, a recognised centre of craft in Ireland, it offers a rare chance to see handmade craft first-hand and hear the stories behind the work.

Glass & Arrow
Beginner-friendly stained glass workshops with Aveen Keogh using the Tiffany copper foil method. Step into the colourful world of stained glass and learn how to transform sheets of glass into your own finished piece to take home. You’ll be guided through each stage of the process, from selecting and cutting glass to foiling, soldering and assembling your design. Suitable for beginners and those with prior experience, with all materials provided. Each session is hands-on and creative, focusing on colour, light and design, where glass is transformed into finished pieces, resulting in a unique handcrafted stained glass panel to take home.
Glenn Gibson
Glenn Gibson Sculpture
Tree sculpture workshops with Glenn Gibson exploring the art of sculpting with wire. Participants are guided through shaping and forming wire by hand, gradually developing structure, balance and natural form as each piece evolves. You’ll work closely with the material throughout in a practical, step-by-step making process. All materials are provided and the workshops are suitable for all levels. The experience is hands-on, with a focus on mindful making, creative flow and working intuitively with form.
Glenn also leads The Legacy Tree Project, a two-day collaborative workshop delivered in schools and organisations across Ireland, where participants create individual wire trees and contribute to a larger shared sculpture installation.
